The internationalization of higher education refers to the phenomenon of colleges and universities becoming interconnected, part of a global system of knowledge and mobility, and power differences associated with that phenomenon. GlobalEd seeks to move beyond the popular “Knight definition” of internationalization toward pluralistic/diverse conceptions of the phenomenon.
