GlobalEd Career Navigator Program

Now recruiting for the 2023 Cohort! Program Dates: May 1 – July 7, 2023

After 20+ years working in another field, I knew that going from browsing the NAFSA job ads to actually landing a position in international education was going to require some work on my side. Through the GlobalEd Career Navigator Program, I learned how to present my skills and experience through an international education lens. Bryan and Marty helped me get a better sense of what kinds of roles I might fit best, supported me in revamping my resume and helped me tweak my interview skills for the international education world. I’m planning to start my international ed job search this spring and feel so much more confident and prepared now that I’ve been through the Navigator program.

The Discipline of International Education

I was recently talking with a colleague about the state of the field of International Education (IE). We were reflecting on how we still hear stories about higher education senior administrators who are unaware that our field IS an academic discipline unto itself. It seems that they are often thinking “Who amongst my senior leaders…

Practicing International Education: An Introduction

What does it mean to practice International Education? Being married to an attorney (now retired after many years), I’ve had many conversations about the concept of “practicing” one’s profession.
